Hello! My name is Indri Harun Haji, and I’m from Ternate, Indonesia. I’m a senior majoring in English Literature, and I’ll be graduating this December. I’ve just finished my term as Chair of Kohati (Korps HMI-Wati), a student organization that has taught me about leadership, empathy, and responsibility. In my free time, I enjoy reading, singing, and occasionally cooking, though I’m often not confident enough to let others try my cooking, hehe. I want to become an au pair because I believe the best way to understand the world is by living and learning firsthand from within it. After completing my studies and fulfilling my commitments to the organization, 2027 is the right time for me to take this step. I want to immerse myself in a new language and culture firsthand, while also bringing the warmth and culture of Indonesia into the host family’s daily life. For me, being an Au Pair isn’t just a job, it’s a genuine cultural exchange and an opportunity to grow together. Your family will gain someone who is not only caring but also mature and reliable. My experience in the HMI has taught me to remain calm under pressure, communicate effectively, and solve problems wisely. I will treat your children as my own family, with love and respect. I possess the right combination of practical skills and the right mindset for this position: 1. First, when I was in junior high school, I participated in volunteer activities focused on children. I mentored 13 children to help them learn to read the Quran. This program took place at my home for 4 years, until I graduated from high school. Second, I frequently participated in volunteer activities at orphanages and elementary schools. These experiences have made me a good listener and patient in dealing with children’s various behaviors. 2. I would be happy to teach your children a few words in Indonesian, as well as prepare traditional Indonesian snacks as a fun activity. 3. I am an honest person. I am very much looking forward to the opportunity to become part of your family and create beautiful memories together. Thank you.
